Før kampen (garderobeprat):
The atmosphere seemed to be good in the locker room. It was the day of the World Cup opening match, and after a draw vs Vaulen where we were unlucky to not win three points, spirits were high. We were looking to continue with another strong performance before the summer break.
Despite my 150 day Bokmål Duolingo streak, I understood very little in the tactics discussion, but we knew we were playing against a team with a lot of firepower, so we discussed a plan to stay compact defensively, and then to take opportunities to counterattack when possible.
Then it was time to warm up for the match. The team showed good intensity during stretching and possession drills.
Første Omgang:
For the first few minutes, the team started well, staying organized and even creating a few opportunities going forward, but after eight minutes, Havdur scored their first goal. Before we knew it, they scored two more in quick succession. Just like that it was 3-0.
Then we had a chance when Torgeir floated in a peach of a ball and Ola came out of nowhere, attacking the ball with the spirit of Erling Haaland flowing through him. It was a perfect header and we were back in the game, 3-1.
We felt maybe we could work back into the match, but then Havdur showed why they are top of the 6. divisjon menn avd. 2 table, scoring another five goals within 18 minutes. 8-1 at the half.
Andre Omgang:
At halftime, we changed to a 4-5-1, hoping to provide some more midfield support. Havdur scored an early goal, but Ola responded quickly to complete his brace, finishing a chance created by Endre, who has been playing very well over the last few matches.
From that point on, we continued to fight, but the Havdur attack proved to be overwhelming, stacking another four goals onto the scoresheet.
As we approached the 90th minute, we had tired legs but never stopped going. Our opponent put in one more cross and Haakon decided enough was enough, sacrificing himself with an own goal to stop Havdur from earning any more stats for themselves.
This was of course a result to forget, but everyone who played gave their best, and that is something we can be proud of. Now we focus on the match against Klebe and then the second half of the season where we can look to improve on a mixed bag of results throughout the spring.
Best of all, let's all enjoy the World Cup, a party for all who love Football!
Dagens Stjerner:
*** Ola
Two more goals for our reliable striker of the season. He continues to show that he can score goals even against tough competition.
** Torgeir
Very nice assist in the first half, and always a calming presence in the squad.
* Endre
Another goal contribution for Endre, as he continues on a great streak of form.
