FK Storhaug- Pol – DUEL OF LEADERS

An ordinary warm spring day in Stavanger. The whole team gathers on time, as the new fines scare everyone, even Sebastian arrives on time, who is trying to get rid of the sponsor label. But of course Abdi did not arrive on time. Abdi and punctuality are like Harry Maguire and football - incompatible. Everyone's mood is good and everyone welcomes the new challenge with positivity. 2 wins and 9 goals scored at the beginning of the season gave the team wings and shows a good preparation for the season. But smiles and relaxation before an important match are not always a good sign. Torgeir starts his speech with the starting line-up and after testing 4 goalkeepers in 2 matches, this time he puts the most shouting goalkeeper in the starting line-up because the wind is strong outside and clear communication is needed:

First half.
The opponents meet us with high and intense pressure. The smiles disappeared from the faces of the team. The players were overcome with excitement. The POL team did not allow us to breathe easily and feel the rhythm of the game. Pressed us in every meter of the pitch, made dangerous attacks and won corner after corner. The referee makes it clear that English football will be played today and the men's fight will be allowed! After a few successful episodes of Storhaug, the team started to play their game and the real battle began. Johannes Gattuso took a step forward and 15 years back to show the youth how to fight and the level of physicality that must be present in this match if we want to win. The fight becomes even, hundreds of duels in the middle of the field and the opponents win one of them and win a corner from which they score a typical 6th division goal. Storhaug does not give up and maintains a level of physicality on the field until the end of the quarter. They go to the HT believing that they can do more!

The second half.
The half starts with a fight and a duel in the middle of the field is won, the award is a free kick. A successful free kick is taken by Sebastian and he sends the ball straight to the head of Torgeir who scores a goal.

However, less than 5 minutes have passed, there is a misunderstanding in the defense and the opponent's forward on the left side runs into a quick attack 1x1 against the goalkeeper and POL takes the lead.

Storhaug doesn't stop fighting and wins another duel in the middle of the field and just decides to copy-paste and the score is tied again after a great strike from Torgeir.

57' 2:2
The fight is just boiling. Storhaug take complete control in the middle of the pitch, winning every duel and hearing the sound of bones after every duel. A few missed opportunities will not make us give up. However, the team begins to feel tired, changes are made. POL takes the corner kick, Storhaug loses concentration and the opponents score into an empty net.

2:3 It was a huge blow to the team. And the efforts made in the last minutes were not enough to change the result.

FT 2:3
Despite the poor result for Storhaug, it was a very good game that finally saw some fighting and a very high level of physicality. This match showed that the team can fight every team in this division!

The whole team. It was the most physical match of the team. It's nice to see how everyone is fighting and trying! At the end of the season, it will bring results. Thumbs up guys!
